What is a Good ACT Score?

Important: Starting in 2025, the composite score is calculated from English, Math, and Reading only. Science is optional and reported separately.

32-36 - Exceptional (99th percentile) - Competitive for Ivy League and top universities
28-31 - Excellent (90-98th percentile) - Competitive for selective colleges
24-27 - Good (75-89th percentile) - Competitive for many four-year colleges
20-23 - Average (50-74th percentile) - Acceptable for most colleges
Below 20 - Below average - May limit college options
